Tata has launched a special edition of its Hexa SUV, the Hexa Downtown Urban Edition which arrives in showrooms on November 3 with a whole lot of cosmetic changes outside and inside, and is also better equipped in terms of kit when compared to the standard Hexa.
The special edition is available in a new Urban Bronze exterior finish and with two package options called Absolute and Indulge. The packages, both of them, add chrome touches to the headlamps and tail lamp surrounds, and on the sides and the outside rear view mirrors, while also featuring Downtown badges, side steps wireless smartphone charging, a carpet set, and a car care kit.
For other lower-spec variants XE, XM and XMA trims, the Absolute package adds new tan seat covers, while the Indulge package on the lower variants gets them new 16-inch alloy wheels. The top-spec XT and XTA trims along with the Indulge package, comes with two Blaupunkt 10.1-inch infotainment screens for the rear and a dashboard-mounted heads-up display that provides speed limit alerts, battery voltage, and heads-up display with Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
Technically speaking, the Hexa Downtown Urban Edition continues with the same 2.2-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-diesel engine that produces 150hp and 320Nm of peak torque in the XE variant, and 156hp and 400Nm in all other trims. While the engine is mated to a five-speed manual in the XE, the XM and XT trims get a choice of a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. The top-spec XT also gets optional four-wheel drive.
The prices for the Urban variant would vary based on the chosen package and the trim level. The prices for start at Rs 12.18 lakh (ex-showroom) for XE variant in the Downtown range.
